Liverpool Safeguarding Adults Week 2025

National Theme: ‘Prevention’

National Safeguarding Adults Week is an opportunity for organisations to raise awareness of important safeguarding issues, start conversations about safeguarding practice, and develop confidence in recognising signs of abuse and neglect.

Liverpool Safeguarding Adults Board (LSAB) have planned a wide range of safeguarding sessions to be delivered by local partner agencies. These sessions are designed to spark discussion, inspire innovation, and share best practice—each led by experienced presenters with specialist expertise.

This year, LSAB also invites professionals and volunteers to attend:

• The Liverpool Safeguarding Adults Board Virtual Conference.
• A Joint Post-Safeguarding Adults Review Learning Event.

Monday 17th November

• Working with those who exhibit hoarding behaviours

  • Time: 09:30 – 10:30
  • Delivered by: Ian Porter

• Introduction to River Drug and Alcohol Service

  • Time: 10:30 – 11:30
  • Focus: With learning from Safeguarding Adults Reviews
  • Delivered by: River – CGL

  • Time: 14:00 – 15:00
  • Focus: with learning from Suicide Prevention Steering Group and Safeguarding Adults Reviews

Tuesday 18th November

• Criminal Exploitation

• Trauma Informed Learning

  • Focus: Psychologically informed framework
  • Delivered by: YMCA Together

• Domestic Abuse

  • Focus: Domestic Homicide Reviews and Safeguarding Adults Reviews
  • Delivered by: Merseyside Domestic Violence Service and Local Solutions – IDVA Service

Thursday 20th November

• Self-Neglect

  Pre-registration required for this session.

  • Focus: includes learning from Safeguarding Adults Reviews and MARAM process
